Each year, chocolate is a staple for Easter. This festive season can be an opportunity to reflect on the chocolate we choose to buy or gift. What if, in 2025, we opted for an ethical chocolate that supports the development of a fair and sustainable cocoa industry while helping to protect the planet?


Certified as a B Corp, Valrhona takes it a step further with its Spring range, which has been "1% for the Planet" certified since 2024.


This year again, 1% of the revenue from this purpose-driven collection will be donated to organizations working to protect the environment. Valrhona offers a collection inspired by the colors of spring, reconciling commitment and indulgence.

A new testament to Valrhona's commitment to environmental preservation

Spring 2025 collection: a pledge for sustainability

Through its Spring 2025 collection, Valrhona is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, an international collective of businesses dedicated to protecting the environment. As part of this commitment, Valrhona pledges to donate 1% of the annual revenue from this collection to environmental organizations addressing issues close to its heart: sustainable cocoa farming, agroforestry, reforestation, and improving the living conditions of cocoa producers.

Cacao Forest: supporting sustainable cocoa in Ivory Coast

As in 2024, the Spring 2025 Collection will continue to support the Cacao Forest project in Ivory Coast. This initiative, launched in 2016 in the Dominican Republic, aims to develop agroforestry practices to protect resources, increase cocoa farmers’ income, and ensure quality cocoa bean supplies. The project is a dynamic and unique partnership between French chocolatiers (Valrhona, Ecotone, Weiss, Révillon, Voisin, Relais Desserts, and Carambar & Co, grouped under the TERRA ISARA endowment fund), research institutions (CIRAD), higher education institutions (ISARA), the NGO Earthworm Foundation, and the French Development Agency (AFD).

Other environmental projects backed by Valrhona

Other supported projects include:

  • Under the Trees, Let’s Gather: Led by the Biovallée association, this initiative allows citizens in the Drôme region in France to plant thousands of fruit trees in communal spaces each year.
  • The 1% for the Planet endowment fund, which unites over 6,000 businesses and 5,000 environmental organizations worldwide.
  • Agronomists and Veterinarians Without Borders: This project supports the regeneration of aging cocoa farms through agroforestry in three northern departments of Haiti.

Empowering customers to make a difference

Through this initiative, Valrhona also empowers its customers to join in its mission by offering products aligned with responsible purchasing values. Proceeds from these sales will fund actions to promote a fair and sustainable cocoa industry.
