Description
Ground Chocolate Nyangbo 68% - 8.8 oz
Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the spicy, toasted and vanilla notes of Nyangbo 68% dark chocolate. It is with this chocolate with its unique aromatic signature that Valrhona has imagined this ground chocolate, ideal for making hot beverages and pastry creations.
A Nyangbo 68% Dark Chocolate, with pure cocoa beans from Ghana
It was in 2007 that Valrhona wanted to highlight African cocoas. This choice naturally led to Ghana, a land of cocoa cultivation since the beginning of the 19th century. It is in the south of Ghana that one of the best cocoas in Africa grows. The result of this work: a 68% dark chocolate, which offers a rounded touch of spices on the attack, to finish on sweet notes of vanilla. With its unique aromatic profile, this chocolate goes perfectly with fruits such as banana, pear, pineapple but its spicy profile also allows it to be associated with other spices such as Tonka bean, cinnamon or vanilla.
Uses of Nyangbo 68% Ground Chocolate
Chocolate chips or "ground chocolate", this process is obtained by cold grating. It thus allows to preserve the intensity of a raw chocolate while adapting the texture and the format to facilitate the melting and the emulsion. It can be enjoyed as well with cow's milk, as with plant-based drinks or water. These chocolate chips are the perfect ally to make all your most gourmet hot chocolates. Real pieces of grated chocolate, these chips offer more indulgence than a classic cocoa powder, thanks to the presence of cocoa butter naturally present in Nyangbo. Cocoa butter offers an incomparable binder for a chocolate less bitter than a classic 100% cocoa powder while remaining ultimately low in sugar.
Beyond making hot beverages, Nyangbo shavings are also a help for all your recipes. Use it as a topping or decoration on a dessert, as an inclusion in a chocolate sauce or mousse, but also as a "stracciatella" incorporated into a vanilla whipped cream. The possibilities are endless, the only limit to its use will be your creativity!
Buy committed and responsible chocolate
When it was founded in 2007, Valrhona explored the country and discovered the commitment with which the players in the cocoa sector defend the homogeneity and quality of raw materials. Since then, the company has maintained a close relationship with local cocoa producers, like all the other partner producers of the brand. Building on this close link between Ghana and Valrhona, Valrhona has been supporting a local foundation since 2011 that contributes to programs to improve the living conditions of local communities and respect the environment. The brand thus combines protection of the environment and the living conditions of producers with the requirement of quality and broadening the aromatic palette. The French company has also been certified B-Corp since 2020, thanks to its commitments to the environment and people.
FAQs

Unlike cocoa powder, Nyangbo ground chocolate is made from real grated couverture that still contains cocoa butter. This gives your drinks and recipes a smoother texture, a richer taste, and natural sweetness, without the bitterness of unsweetened cocoa.
How can I use Nyangbo 68% Ground Chocolate?
It’s perfect for hot or iced chocolate drinks, and also ideal for desserts, sauces, mousses, and toppings. Try it sprinkled over whipped cream or folded into a vanilla chantilly for a “stracciatella” effect.
How do I prepare a hot chocolate with Nyangbo?
Heat your favorite milk (cow’s or plant-based) until simmering, then whisk in the ground chocolate until fully melted and smooth. Adjust the quantity to taste for a more intense or creamier drink.
