Dark Chocolate Bar Guanaja 70% - 2.46oz
Are you a fan of great classics? Discover the iconic Guanaja 70% dark chocolate bar created by Valrhona. The world's first bitterest chocolate, Guanaja has become the flagship of Valrhona's dark chocolates.
Origin of the Guanaja 70% dark chocolate bar
In 1986, Valrhona created the world's most bitter chocolate with 70% cocoa. It caused a real revolution in the world of chocolate. Over the years, it became one of Valrhona's essential dark chocolates. The Guanaja 70% dark chocolate bar is the result of a technical blend of aromatic profiles of cocoas characteristic of Trinidad, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Madagascar. Its name refers to the island of Guanaja where the explorer Christopher Columbus landed in 1502 and to whom the first cocoa beans were given.
Chocolate tasting advice
During your tasting, you will feel notes of bitter cocoa nibs and a hint of acidity at the end of the mouth. The complex blend of cocoa aromatic profiles combined with Valrhona's know-how gives it a consistent and unique taste. The combination of these various origins and their roasting give this dark chocolate tasting bar a balanced, grilled taste and an elegant bitterness. As a result, this bar remains slightly sweet and perfect for lovers of intense dark chocolate.
