Andoa Milk 39%, the first organic milk chocolate couverture
It's in the Piura region, in north-western Peru, that Valrhona has selected exceptional cocoa beans. Peru is now the world's second largest producer of organic cocoa. Andoa Lait 39% offers an entirely new sensory experience, with its unique and recognizable aromatic typicity: the taste of farmhouse milk. This Pure Origin milk chocolate is made exclusively from the finest Fairtrade/Max Havelaar-certified organic raw materials.
Andoa Milk 39%, an organic chocolate reflecting Valrhona's commitment
The Norandino cooperative has over 5,000 members, most of them families of small-scale producers who grow not only cocoa, but also coffee. The cooperative's mission is to help farmers achieve higher, more stable incomes, and to impose ethical principles not only among themselves, but also with commercial partners. Today, all producers are certified organic and Fairtrade. The collaboration with Valrhona began in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength. Valrhona supports the cultivation of Gran-Blanco cocoa and obtains exclusive purchasing rights in return. After the devastating floods of 2016, Valrhona supported farmers with financial aid and, the following year, provided drinking water to the communities of La Quemazón and Los Ranchos. In 2018, a cocoa processing center was built. In 2020, solar panels were installed to power a water pump in La Quemazón. Today, La Quemazón has permanent access to running water. When you buy Valrhona chocolate, you support the brand's efforts to help small Peruvian producers by providing them with a stable income.
