Created in 1990, Manjari is the result of a lasting partnership between Valrhona and the Millot plantation in northern Madagascar. Seduced by the power and typicality of the Madagascar beans discovered by Valrhona, the brand decided to launch its signature chocolate, as a symbol of the wealth of this territory. Valrhona thus reveals Malagasy cocoa as a fine cocoa and Manjari 64% chocolate becomes one of the brand's must-haves.

Origin of the Manjari 64% dark chocolate bar

It is in the north of Madagascar that the Sambirano River descends from the high plateaus and feeds a rich alluvial plain. It is in this region, crossed by the trade winds that bring the humidity conducive to the good development of cocoa trees, that planters have been cultivating exceptional cocoa for decades. It was in 1990 that Valrhona decided to highlight the typicality of Malagasy beans, which had hitherto been little recognized, by launching Manjari, its first Grand Cru de terroir that would quickly become one of the greatest classics of the Valrhona Maison.
